“Is writing in itself a kind of spiritual practice, and if so, how?”

Shozan-Jack-2-1Little while back when I was so snowed under with writing and advising and teaching and having bronchitis and being so busy I was not talking to anyone who wasn’t an immediate family member, I was able to speak with to this amazing and inspiring writer, Shozan Jack Haubner, for Hunger Mountain’s website. Our interview is here.

Shozan Jack has gone from being my favorite Buddhist writer to being one of my favorite writers overall. He’s funny, thoughtful and wise, able to cut through a lot of the crap that surrounds writing about the spiritual experience. I learned a lot from Shozan Jack’s first book and am eagerly awaiting the second, out in October.
